Las pinturas de Pow desmienten su tema grotesco con las superficies indeleblemente hermosas y un uso amplio y atrevido del color. Mutantes, monstruos, demonios, desviados y monstruos se tambalean, se sientan y parecen transformarse en medio de paisajes extrañamente iluminados o escenarios urbanos en desintegración, o emergen de un lío de grafitos pictóricos, pero, como insisten sus obras más abstractas, la capacidad de Martínez para hacer intrigantes y las relaciones entre formas y superficies aseguran que sus obras sean infinitamente convincentes, una experiencia similar a una hermosa pesadilla.
