From Galería Isolina Arbulu, and in collaboration with Galería Justo Giner (Madrid), we present an exhibition intervention by Javier de Juan. This project goes beyond the traditional exhibition format and takes shape as a living work, activated by time, space, and the presence of the public.

For ten days, the gallery becomes a condensed, walkable Madrid: layered, simultaneous, folded in on itself like a labyrinth. The city becomes the exhibition, and the exhibition becomes an experience: something not only to be observed, but to be crossed, walked through, and inhabited. The visitor is not merely a spectator, but an active part of the event.

Javier de Juan, painter, visual storyteller, and chronicler of Madrid, articulates this exhibition-performance from a premise that defines his practice: to live is to move. Madrid, ceaseless and luminous, embodies that energy. In his visual language, architecture, light, rhythm, and collective memory intertwine, revealing a city that is continually drawn and erased, tracing new lines over its own remnants.

In this context, Madrid appears as a labyrinth: intimate and expansive, fixed and shifting at once, unfolded within a single space. The public moves through the work as one moves through the city, becoming both traveler and witness. Each piece is a detour, a passage, a pulse that reshapes the map with every step. Here, transience is not an exception; it is the project’s very essence.
