The Yusto/Giner Gallery presents the new solo exhibition of Los Bravú at our Madrid gallery space.

It ‘s been exactly a decade since the artistic collective known as Los bravú began. 10 years in which Dea Gómez and Diego Omil have dabbled in the editorial world, the underground comic culture, sculpture, painting, and even dance.

This latest pictorial project presented in Madrid marks the celebration of this anniversary. A sort of sublimation of their particular artistic style, where the fusion between the classical world and the most avant-garde aesthetics is completely and seamlessly channeled by the artists, who face their most mature period yet. A body of works that define their familiar imaginary, full of symbolism and plagued by suggestive cultural references.

In the words of Los Bravú:

“The objective is to give poetry a pictorial body, which arises from the association of the elements that stem from the composition, and acquires their true dimension in the gaze of whoever observes the image. Unusual scenes, much more dreamlike this time, charged with a strong theatrical quality. Images of a melancholic nature decorated with architecture reminiscent of the classical style, where majestic characters are depicted, refers to the ruins of our present moment. Western culture is used as a prop for the twilight of a civilization. The cold and humid of daybreak, when the rooster crows.”
